Brooklyn Harrington, RSW (Group Co-Facilitator)
Brooklyn graduated from the Social Work Program, at Grant MacEwan University, in Edmonton, Alberta. She has supported people in a variety of different capacities, within the human service field, working with dual diagnosed/developmentally delayed adults, the homeless population, children and at-risk youth and other vulnerable people groups. Brooklyn has a passion to help others experience positive, transformative growth in their lives and believes this can only be achieved through authentic, encouraging and transparent engagement. Brooklyn moved to Calgary in 2013 and fell in love with the beauty of the city and its eclectic people. When she isn’t working she enjoys doing home renovations, photography, singing, hiking, volunteering and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. TaeEun Ahn, MD
Dr. TaeEun Ahn completed her Bachelor's and Master of Science at the University of Western Ontario. She studied neurobiology in a lab where the primary focus included reproduction, sexuality, addictions/award pathway (these neural pathways are closely associated and fascinating!). Although she had a small part in the research lab as a Master's student, her exposure and experience led to continuous interest in human psychology, addictions, and mental health. She volunteered at a cultural psychology lab at the University of Alberta prior to starting her medical degree and after medical school, she completed a family medicine residency at the University of Calgary. Since then, she has been splitting her time practicing medicine both in Calgary and rural Alberta where she covers acute care, emergency, and outpatient clinics. Her special interest includes sexual health (PrEP certified) and group therapy for mental health. She is experienced in:

Dr. Magdalene Leung, MD
Dr. Magdalene Leung is a proud native Calgarian. Academically, she received both her Bachelors and Masters of Science at the University of Calgary. She completed her medical school at Queens University in Ontario and her residency training in family medicine at the University of Calgary.
She believes that everyone is resilient, resourceful and capable of making and sustaining change. Her psychotherapy framework are grounded on a holistic model that focuses on four domains: biological; psychological; social and spiritual. One achieves wellness when being attuned to these four domains. She has used strategies including: motivational interviewing; cognitive behavioral therapy skills (CBT); dialectical behavioral therapy skills (DBT) and interpersonal therapy skills to help patients deal with mental health challenges such as: day-to-day stressors, depression, anxiety, trauma, insomnia, loss of a loved one and addiction. She feels very privileged to have the opportunity to work at Chinook Medical Center and to help local Calgarians.

Dr. Mehwish Hanif, MD
Dr. Mehwish Hanif is a Family Physician with special interest in Mental Health, Addiction, Women’s Health and Chronic Disease Management. She graduated from the University of Calgary Medical School in 2016, and stayed in Calgary to complete her Family Medicine residency training in 2018. She is certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) and is also a recipient of CFPC Medical Student Leadership Award. Dr. Hanif has a special interest in counselling, group therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, twelve steps program and women’s health. She believes in the holistic approach to patient care, and loves to help patients overcome various medical and psychological challenges. She is fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi. Dr. Hanif also enjoys teaching, and is a clinical lecturer with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Calgary. Outside medicine, she enjoys travelling, volunteering, hiking, working out, watercolor painting, and spending time with family and loved ones.
