Ketamine For Mental Health
What Is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy ?
KAP combines traditional talk therapy with low-dose ketamine in a safe, controlled two-hour session. This powerful combination can lead to deep therapeutic insights and emotional breakthroughs.
It can support treatment for:
Treatment-resistant depression
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Major depressive disorder
Severe anxiety disorders
Bipolar depression (without mania)
End-of-life anxiety and existential distress
Outcomes
70% of patient have some symptomatic improvement, with up to 40% achieving remission in treatment resistant depression trials. This effect size significant, especially in a resistant population.
What to Expect
Free Consultation – A 30-minute consultation with Dr. Nader Attalla (covered by OHIP) to assess if KAP is right for you.
Preparation – Meet with Dr. Attalla or a therapist to prepare for treatment and build your personalized care plan
Experience – Participate in a guided ketamine session in a safe, supportive setting to explore new perspectives
Integration – Work with a professional to turn insights into lasting emotional and behavioral change
Reconnect & Reassess – Continue your progress or explore additional sessions based on your needs
Coverage Information:
Consultations and psychotherapy with Dr. Attalla are covered by OHIP
Psychotherapy if needed with other therapists is not covered by OHIP
KAP sessions are not OHIP-covered, but may be eligible for private insurance
$400 per ketamine session, with a 20% discount available for low-income individuals.
